Profile

A professor of the University of Calgary Drama Department, Clem Martini is also an award-winning playwright, screenwriter, novelist and writer of short fiction. His areas of specialization include playwriting, screenwriting, improvisation, acting, developmental drama, theatre for young audiences and drama creation. He is a winner of the National Playwriting Competition, a three time recipient of the Alberta Writer’s Guild Playwriting Award, and a Governor General Nominee. His published texts include “The Blunt Playwright”, "Illegal Entry", "A Three Martini Lunch", "Turnaround", “The Field Mouse Collection”, "The Unauthorized Oral History of Theatresports", and his trilogy of novels for young people “Feather and Bone: The Crow Chronicles.” He currently sits on the Executive Council of the Playwrights Guild of Canada in the position of Past President.
